Staff are chosen for their ability and commitment to create learning environments that foster excellence.  They have a passion for education and an ability to communicate effectively.  Through our on-going investment in the professional development of our staff, we provide curricula and effective teaching that is tailored to the specific needs of our students.  Within the context of ‘Life Long Learning’ Literacy and Numeracy skills are priorities and are integrated throughout the school curriculum.

Mr Sarky has an extensive background with over 22 years of experience in education as a teacher, administrator, and educational consultant. He is also an experienced IB Educator with a strong foundation in pedagogical leadership.

Mr Sarky graduated from Cairo University with a BA in Language and Literature in 2000 and has since been working in the field of education. His areas of expertise include pedagogical leadership, community building, educational projects, teachers’ professional development, and well-being.

Mr Sarky has been an IB Educator for over 11 years and has fulfilled various roles to promote the IB philosophy across Africa, Europe, and the Middle East. He is also a certified positive discipline trainer.

Mr Sarky strongly advocates for student-centered learning and has a proven track record of implementing innovative educational programs that have had a positive impact on student achievement. He is committed to creating a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment that fosters academic excellence and personal growth.

We are confident that Mr Sarky will bring new perspectives, ideas, and leadership to our school community. He is excited to meet and collaborate with each one of you to continue our school’s tradition of academic excellence and character development.

Nermine Hammad became a part of GAA in 2019, after spending 14 years at Alexandria House of English. She began her career there as an English teacher and eventually rose to the position of Head of the Primary British Department. Prior to her time at HOE, Mrs. Hammad taught Business English courses for postgraduates at the Arab Academy for Science and Technology.

Growing up in Alexandria, Mrs. Hammad attended and graduated from Sacred Heart School. Pursuing her passion for English Literature, she studied at Alexandria Faculty of Arts, English Department, with a particular fondness for lectures on Human Civilisations and Comparative Literature. She obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in 2002 and later became a certified Cambridge English teacher.

Mrs. Nermine believes that a collaborative school environment is essential for fostering successful teachers and students. She is a firm believer in the potential of all students, provided they put in the necessary effort.

In her leisure time, Ms. Nermine indulges in reading historical fiction novels, which happens to be her favorite genre.

Mrs. Jamie Sing has a wealth of experience in early childhood education, having worked at a kindergarten for 10 years prior to joining GEMS Academy Alexandria in 2015. During her time at the kindergarten, she served as the second in charge and worked with children from diverse cultural backgrounds. With 18 years of experience teaching children aged 6 months to 7 years, Mrs. Sing brings a deep understanding of child development and growth to her role at GEMS Academy Alexandria. Her passion for nurturing children’s potential and fostering their learning journey is evident in her dedication to providing a supportive and enriching environment for all students.
