Languages

We offer French as a third language at GEMS Academy Alexandria from FS2 to Year 2. Learning a language such as French is a beautiful, rich musical language. French teaches the children critical thinking which is a valuable skill for discussions and negotiation.

Key Stage 1- Year 1 & Year 2

We provide a broad and balanced education for the children in KS1 using the Cambridge curriculum. We help the children to thrive throughout their schooling, work and life. The children will take 12 subjects including English, Mathematics, Science, Robotics, Arabic, ICT, PE, Art, French, Humanities, Global perspectives and Religion. The children will have plenty of opportunities to develop creativity, expression and wellbeing in a variety of ways.

Alongside the EYFS and Cambridge curriculum we offer an amazing Phonics program called “Letter land”, Letter land enriches the children’s knowledge and learning which helps them to read and to write. Letter land correlates with the requirements of the UK National curriculum and meets the DfE criteria for synthetic phonics.
